Name That Mannequin Contest Winners and a New 'Do'!

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who helped me name my new gal! I truly had fun reading all the wonderful, creative names! Alas, I must pick one... or two? I decided it was perfectly alright for her to have a FIRST and MIDDLE name, so I will be sending out two sets of 5 digital collage sheets!
So, what is her new name you ask?

Madeline Marie

It was Pattie who picked her first name. Her is what she had to say (this cracked me up!):

Hmmm Kristin,
Naming your first real live mana...er modeling assistant ;) is always such an important occasion. It sets the tone for all those who will follow her :) The way she carries herself and dresses she gives the impression she is a bit shy and innocent. A girl on her own for the first time. But then one notices she has real back bone. and appearances can always be deceiving!! I'm almost sure I heard her tell the other Mana...modeling assistants that her name was Madeline... with the "I" pronounced with a long "I" sound of a willful independent woman. No soft "i" mammby pammby shrinking violet thank you very much!!Oh do have fun naming her!! Before long you will wonder how you ever got along without her!! :)

Pattie ;)

And Lynn Stevens picked Marie.

I hope I made the right decision - she can be a fussy gal!
Speaking of fussy, I got another new haircut. Shorter this time, and more of an angle.
Happy weekend to all!

Name That Mannequin Contest!

I bought this gal this week! I wanted her to display some of my soldered charms at the upcoming art/craft shows. And of course, she must have a name! So I thought it would be fun to have a contest. I must admit, a few times I walked into the room where she was and JUMPED. I thought it was a person standing there...LOL! Read below for the contest.....

I need some help naming my mannequin so I'm having a contest! Simply post your best name on this post, and on Saturday May 30th, I'll pick my favorite. The winner will recieve any FIVE digital collage sheets from my store! I may pick a few runner-ups too :).
The contest is now CLOSED! Thank you for all the wonderful entries!

A Few New Pieces

I finally had some time to create/list a few pieces on Etsy. The first is my tiniest mosaic ever, in a ring! I used the ring blanks from my store, a frozen charlotte doll head, and real handcut tiles! And of course grout and sealer :). Oh, I made the faux cupcake too, but it's just for display.

Next is a collage pendant, using vintage rhinestones, set in glass-like resin!

Dolls Dolls Dolls and Michelle Legler!

I listed a few EX Large China Heads on the site. The Bonnet Head doll is HUGE and so pretty! She's the only one I've ever come across. You can see them all HERE. The following gals are all cut and ready to go!

I restocked the Frozen Charlotte Heads!

I also wanted to share this AMAZING piece of work by Michelle Leger, the Mosaic Queen! She created her for Lisa Kaus. I recently "met" Michelle and I'm so glad that I did.

Be sure to check out Michelle's mosaics, they are divine! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

New Goodies!

I just listed some wonderful new goodies at Retro Cafe' Art Gallery!

ATC Shelf Shrine
Medium Cross Trinket (just like the small cross trinkets only double the size!)
Masonite ATC Blanks
La Fenetre (the window) Shrine Kit (would be cool as a pendant/earring set)
AND the awesome Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers!
Find all of the new goodies HERE!

Another Journal Page

Here is another page I created for the Indiana Altered Art Group journal "round robin". We each created or purchased a journal, and each month we meet in person, swap them out, and admire each of the pages! This is the second month, and I'm doing doll themed pages of course. For this page I used the Hello Dollie 2 collage sheet.
The paper I used was THIN so I decided to not glue anything. So I sewed :).

The Eyes Have it - Antique German Glass Doll Eyes!

Check out what I just listed over at Retro Cafe' Art!
Antique German glass doll eyes!
* You will get one pair (2) Antique German Glass doll eyes! These are so cool and TINY. I pictured two pairs so you could see the size variation. Each eye will measure between .5" - 5/8" long. Your eyes may not match 110%, but I will get them as close as possible. The backs of the eyes are slightly concaved, but you can easily glue them onto a project. I think these would be awesome in a jewelry or mosaic project!
Supplies are limited so get them HERE ASAP :).

Diana's Crown

I wanted to share this crown that my friend Diana Darden made. She is SO creative - she used the pointed shelf shrines and attached them to make a crown! So cool!
